Welcome to Quirkily Honest — a corner of my website for songs that don't always behave the way songs are "supposed" to.
Some of these pieces take a left turn musically: unusual structures, unexpected turns, melodies that wander a little farther than convention allows. Others are different because of what they say - lyrics that are plain-spoken, searching, occasionally awkward in the best way, and sometimes quietly funny. And sometimes they're different in both ways at once. But whatever shape they take, they're offered with the utmost reverence.
This page is for the moments when faith isn't polished, when worship is real life rather than performance. Songs like "God Knows I'm Not Perfect" don't try to tidy me up before I come to Him. And "Who Do I Think I'm Fooling" is a gentle reminder that I might fool the world for a while — but I can't fool God... and in a strange way, that's not frightening, it's freeing.
If you've ever wanted something honest, a bit off-centre, and still wholeheartedly turned toward Christ - you're in the right place.
